About The Author

Claire Booth spent more than a decade covering crime as a daily newspaper reporter before turning to book writing. She has reported on many high-profile cases, including the Laci Peterson murder and the San Francisco dog mauling case, writing extensively about the trial of two lawyers accused of killing their neighbor with vicious dogs they kept for a convict friend. She also covered the case of Taylor Helzer while working for the Contra Costa Times.

Booth has won numerous awards for her writing from such organizations as the Society of Professional Journalists, Florida Press Club and California Newspaper Publishers Association. She has appeared on national television news programs to discuss the Peterson case and has given talks on reporting and writing. She is a member of Investigative Reporters and Editors and a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism.

Her writing career has taken her all over the country; she has worked in Washington, D.C., South Florida, the Seattle area and the Bay Area. Her work has appeared in such prominent publications as the Miami Herald, San Jose Mercury News and Philadelphia Inquirer.
